today was dragged by biyong n vicky to donate blood.. guess it was my fate to go back there again.. my 1st experience with needles at a blood donation center was not that pleasent and it still occasionally brings back bad memories.. my last donation was 3yrs ago.. it was very long ago.. haha .. well this time the nurse were very friendly and i let them know abt my situation.
they were very friendly and they suggested giving me more tranqulizers.. haha they took note of my blood type O- and they congraulated me on being the 1st negative of the day and sumore with such a rare blood type.. they keep their records in their database and they can be accessed by just a scan of ur nric.. guess i know y all these years i have been reciving many mail letters in whch they ask me to go and donate blood..
for those who dun know O- is a very rare blood.. negative O can save positive O but positive O cant save negative O so it means i can onli save myself... and O is a universal blood group which give me the opportunity to save many ppl haha..
the needle was inserted with not much pain but there was a numbling effect and i can feel the arm goin numb as well... and they were telling me that i should tell them 1st if i dun not like the inserting needle part so they will make it less painfull for u..
there was this gal who was seated opposite me.. it might be her 1st time with blood transfusion and she fainted there.. it happens when u are low blood count goes to the brain.. they immediately take off the needles and allow u to rest..
it seems that even when u pass the medical checkup its hard to see if there is enough blood in ur body to donate.. sometimes girls have their monthly periods and if its in quick succession of a blood donation this might happen.. it was nt my 1st time seeing a female faint during a blood donation drive haha..
