this week was damn fun and exciting.. 1st day was my tekong exercise wanderer.. we're suppose to navigate around tekong finding checkpoints.. if u cant find dun bother goin back to the end points.. we skipped the day midpoint and just continued to find our checkpoints.. after our 1st checkpoint, we found a long open road beside tekong reservoir. on the road u can enjoy one of the uncommercialised reservoir in singapore..
thus its scenery is as natural as it is.. the water was very calm and it was quite windy.. by this time it was already 11am.. thus we decided to take a picnic.. so we found a spot beside the water under the tree for lunch.. had chicken rice in a green pack.. =/ worse tasting food i've ever taken.. sat around and continued after lunch..
managed to find the rest of the checkpoint without much problems coz the navigator was quite zai and really enjoyed navigation.. we ended before 4 and rested for 1 hr be4 we moved to the end point..
we started our night navigation before darkness engulf the reclaimed land.. we managed to find our 1st checkpoint at 8.. we made our way to the 2nd checkpoint around 7 clicks away.. the tress were all the same.. in neat rows with equal spacing.. quite eerie.. we could not find our confirmation points so we just continued to walk..
i brought the satellite map they gave us and refered to it most of the time.. finally we managed to locate ourselfs and walk.. there was a part where we needed to bash through the thick forest.. i was leading the way.. -.- i got no idea y.. we bashed through the forest.. as i was walking, i suddenly felt the floor collapse.. the only words i recall saying was " WHAT.. THE.. FUCK..." i fell into a big drain.. i could hear my team mates laughing.. luckily nvr hurt myself..
the last checkpoint was a needle in a haystack.. but the navigator was very brave and just continued to walk in after i've reach my pacing.. he went into the forest without much consideration.. the other guy who joined us was very scared.. but we found it and managed to come out alive tks to the other 2 who were our guards incase we got lost.. made i tback by 11pm... it was quite fun in all..
next day was batle cource and a few of us broke our legs coz we cant see the drain at all.. i took my time when i needed to prone or high kneel.. battle cource was always fun and enjoyable.. field camp was described by 'obama" of my company as grand-slack.. which was quite true haha
